Who We Are

We are the San Leandro Computer Club. Started in 1983 as an Atari 800 Computer User Group. We are one of the older, continuing computer user groups in the Bay Area. We meet at the San Leandro Public Library, 300 Estudillo Ave, San Leandro, California, on the first Tuesday of the month, at 7pm.

Next Meeting

Our next Zoom meeting will be on the next non-first Tuesday,  7pm, West Coast, U.S. time.  Members receive invitations each week. If a guest would like to attend a meeting please contact Robbie Bridges.

Our next live, hybrid meeting, at the San Leandro library, and on Zoom, will be held on the first Tuesday of the month, from 6:45pm-7:45pm, West Coast, U.S. time. at the San Leandro Public Library, 300 Estudillo Ave., San Leandro, CA 94577. Contact Robbie Bridges to confirm you're coming.

The "Shelter in Place" order made necessary by the Covid-19 outbreak, has caused our meetings to be weekly, using Zoom virtual meeting software (free) starting in May, 2020. As of Aug. 2021, we began hybrid meetings, on the 1st Tues. of each month. The other weeks are Zoom only,.

News

The group exhibited at the Aug 1-2, 2025 Vintage Computer Festival West. Kevin was 1st to be interviewed by TechJesse (Thank you Rodrigo for the link), an SLCC Google Photo Album was created (TY Mariano) as well as a 5x7 collage of photos from Kevin.

Our collection of Disks of the month from 1983 to 1995 have been made available on the Internet Archive. When you arrive at the site, where it says, DOWNLOAD OPTIONS", click "SHOW ALL" to see links to zipped .ATR files for each group of SLCC Disks Of The Month. Many thanks to Kevin Lund who uploaded all these files as well as our past SLCC Journal newsletter archive.

Claim to fame: We won the 1st Place Award at Computer Festival West 2018, for the best booth. This is the 2nd year in a row we've won it. Details and photos in our Facebook post and just-uploaded (Oct 24, 2021) photo gallery.

December 2, 2025 - Hybrid - In attendance Kevin, Robbie, Garrett, Don, Bob, Scott, Ron, and Chris. Scott and Kevin discussed the technical details of Atari DOS 3, Atari 1450 and 1200 PC boards were discussed also prototype cases, a Rambo XL upgrade and much more! See detailed meeting notes.

November 25, 2025 - Zoom - In attendance Kevin, Robbie, Harry, John, Don, Bob, Mariano, Scott, and Matthew. Scott fired up his Atari XL, Mathew's 800XL's break key wasn't working, Herry found pressure pads to silence humming noise on his 1050 and 810 drives, Kevin showd his 1450 XLD 3D printed case, the group discussed a prototype Parallel Bus Iterface board for 600 and 800XL Atari computers and much more! November 18, 2025 - Zoom - In attendance Kevin, Robbie, Don, Ron, and Bob. Bob demonstrated a pgm that transfer files from disk images to an Atari hard drive, Don and Kevin discussed various atari books including an original Atari Basic Reference Manual from 1979 and a quick reference card for Atari Basic, Kevin's progressing on modifying a case for the 1450 XLD and much more! Kevin discussed the 3D printed, 1450 printer case, group-discussed Tong board (final version of the 1450 XL but never released, motherboard), Lenore's work on the 1250 board, size of Atari 8-bit vs ST computer user groups system and much more! November 4, 2025 - Hybrid - In attendance Kevin, Robbie, Harry, Ron, Randy, Scott, and Don. Kevin discussed mods and upgrades to a 1200XS Atari Computer including the installation of a 32-in-1 cartridge, also Kevin explained aspects ow 32-1 allows for booting different OS and discussed differences between versions of the 1200XL ROMS, challenges of finding parts and docs and much more!
